The green-eyed dynamo of Gallery Domingo, Kim Leerdam, has unleashed her creativity and enthusiasm on the Hollywood art scene. We are all benefiting from

her efforts.  Kim is the driving force behind the cyber-gallery at www.gallerydomingo.com as well as the chief organizer for the local showings of the artists for whom she works with such fervor. Foregoing the traditional brick and mortar gallery, Kim explains that artist showings occur regularly at the hip Melrose Trading Post. This offbeat, West L.A. flea market is held each Sunday at Fairfax High School, corner of Fairfax and Melrose. There, like gypsies with a tent, Kim and her artists put up their wares under the Gallery Domingo banner on the first and third Sunday of each month. This low-overhead marketing method allows them to offer great art bargains to collectors, collector wanna-be’s, or any discerning passerby with a taste for good, original art.

Featured in the Gallery Domingo tent this past Sunday were artists; Jay Brockman

and Paige Wery.  Jay’s current series of silhouetted Hollywood landscapes, stark and complex against beautiful sunset skies, will appeal to all who have a love and passion for Los Angeles. These acrylic works on canvas seem to be executed with affection and respect. They are steeped in the flavor of old Hollywood.

Paige Wery has a lot to say and she says it with strong brush strokes and bold ***image 6:right*** color layering. Her abstract work is emotional, thick with paint, and rich with movement and details. Her portrait work is expressive and hypnotic.  The style is injected with personality and propels the viewer to make a careful examination of each individual piece.

All the artists associated with Gallery Domingo are profiled at the www.gallerydomingo.com web site.  The site is thorough and ultra-easy to navigate. It is recommended you take a moment to visit Kim and the talented artists at Gallery Domingo. There you will be pleased to find an appealing variety of affordable and original work.
