Xin, the fresh, hip clothing and accessories boutique in the premier Melrose Heights shopping
district, presents Los Angeles streetscape paintings by Jay Brockman during the last month of
summer. The opening reception will take place in conjunction with the Melrose Heights Summer
Block party on August 19th from 7pm – 10pm and the exhibition continues through September.
Xin is located at 8064 Melrose Avenue in the Melrose Heights District, one block east of Crescent
Heights Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Jay Brockman’s sharply contrasted skies and stark black streets peppered with lights, palm trees
and billboards seem to be painted in a realism style but are impressionistic upon closer inspection.
Brockman’s streetscape paintings were recently featured at the Los Angeles County Museum of
Art in the Rental and Sales Gallery’s Show 5. Jay Brockman is represented by Gallery Domingo,
a roaming gallery based on relationships and events, rather than the typical bricks and mortar
approach (www.gallerydomingo.com).
