J.S. Carson and Gallery Domingo are teaming up for an
amazing show of self-lit paintings at the Salvation Theater in Los Angeles,
California (1519 Griffith Park Boulevard). The solo show, entitled, "the art of
j.s. carson: time light gravity" will feature his new body of self-lit paintings
for a special four-day exhibition from June 19th through the 22nd.
The artist reception will be held on Friday, June 20th from 7 to 10
o’clock and is open to the general public.
A former art installer at the Robert Berman Gallery in the
Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica, California, the artist J.S. Carson
resides in W. Hollywood. He enjoys the tactile sensation of painting as
much as the finished product. Each painting is a general reminder of the
physical experience of life on earth. This body of work is a product of the
artist living with the various media for the past two years, a slow
transformation ending at the show. Carson uses non-traditional materials
ranging anywhere from lamps to clocks. His concepts are as bold as his
paintings.
Gallery Domingo is a non-traditional venue by which to buy
and sell artwork. Started in March 2003, it was founded by a young entrepreneur
and artist representative named Kim Leerdam who benefits from the unique
perspective of being married to Hollywood painter, Jay Brockman. She is building
relationships between both emerging and established artists and their potential
collectors. This will be the second solo show hosted by Gallery Domingo at a
non-traditional venue.
